Favourite Mark Sheppard roles: 4/10 - Manservant Neville (Middleman)
A genius and sadly underappreciated show in general, Mark’s role was basically just icing on the cake here for me. He basically plays an evil Steve Jobs. Or is he evil, or was that just his alternate universe counterpart? He certainly plays dubious excellently, in any case. And really, everyone should watch this show, it’s only 12 episodes. Go on. It’s like happy silly X-Files, but with themed episodes like Community, and more fun wordplay than you can shake a stick at.
Most of us have a softspot (you might call it an illness) where well-edited, well-conceived fanvids are concerned. And this one might top them all: premiered at Chicago’s Vividcon last weekend, here is a fanvid dedicated to fandom at large, set to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” You may not be a fan of Billy Joel, but we swear it doesn’t matter. What better way to chronicle decades of geeky dedication than through a song chronicling decades of history?
Have you guys seen this amazing fanvid? It’s got a zillion different fandoms in it, but I was most excited by the clip near the end from The Middleman! It shows up at about 3:50, it’s Wendy working on the painting of The Middleman at the end of “The Palindrome Reversal Palindrome.”
Even without the Middleman clip, it’s pretty amazing and you guys should watch it. The creators’ comments can be read here, if you’re interested.

“Right. I confront him, get him off on a monologue, you go around…”
“Switch off the machine while he’s distracted?”
“Dang skippy. Break.”
