Wendy stepped back from the painting she’d just hung on the wall—it was a swirling, chaotic work featuring velociraptors eating stormtroopers that were riding giant fish while peas rained down from ominous green clouds—and eyed it critically.
“That’s really something else.”
She turned to see a blond guy wearing khakis and a white t-shirt that clung lovingly to an amazing chest and pair of shoulders. He looked like he might be even more square-jawed and broad-shouldered than her boss.
“I meant it as a compliment,” he said, when she continued to stare at him. “I’m Steve. I’m looking for Wendy?”

So I’ve been thinking about doing a Middleman/Warehouse 13 crossover fic. What I’ve got right now is that Wendy leaves the Middleman Organization for a while and is recruited to be Claudia’s new Warehouse partner. (Can you imagine the snarking? It will be glorious.) Claudia will drag Wendy along on a mission to prove that her previous partner Steve is actually still alive. And the Middleman will just argue with Artie about which organization is better.
What I want to know is what kind of relationship people want Wendy and the Middleman to have. Some say their relationship is romantic, while other fans (and the canon) maintains that Wendy and the Middleman are like siblings. Kind of like Pete and Myka in a way: they love each other and would easily give their lives for one another, but are not connected romantically.
So, yeah, if those out there have watched the Middleman, what do you think Wendy and the Middleman’s relationship should be: romantic or platonic?
Any thoughts, you guys?

so - according to a poll conducted by the kind folks over at “goshyesthemiddleman”, there seems to be some demand for middleman crossover fanfic…
…and while i have publicly stated that i am more or less done writing stories for the middleman and wendy… well… what the hey, it’s christmas, and i suppose that technically, this isn’t so much a middleman story as it is a fanfic for another character…
disclaimers - please forgive any runaway typos, as this was something of a lark, and any bizarre formatting resulting from the transfer of words from pages to tumblr’s cumbersome text editor…
this fanfic is rated PG for the wanton use of the expression “jump his bones.”
